A long time coming
The idea or concept of Ylem's Ink began at Kent State University in the Fall of 1994
In the Fall of 1994 as a young English major I sat in 7 Ideas that Shook the Universe at Kent State University. The lecture that day mentioned the Ylem hypothetical. I imagined being able to dip a pen into a pool of cosmic ink that was about to explode into eternal everything.
The walk back to Apple Hall among the freshman dorms was a haul. I dreamt of someday starting a creative studio named Ylem’s Ink as I passed black squirrels and yellow jackets. The dream probably would have drifted away except I created my first email address soon after. In the 90s, your email address was supposed to conceal your identity. I chose ylempoint. I figured no one else in the world would think of ylempoint, my dream of the exact spot the Ylem popped and the Big Bang exploded.
Years later
After seeing a few cents of advertising revenue flow in from Table Shuffleboard, I looked up the cost of forming an LLC in Ohio. Turns out, it doesn’t cost much. I ultimately figured, why not just form your own media studio to distribute mobile games and music? YLEMS INK LLC was officially recognized by the state of Ohio in July of 2026.
Ylem’s Ink is a culmination of my artistic and technological creations.
Why?
I want to share. Making money would be cool, but money is not expected. Thirty years of artistic hobbies have produced much joy but no money. I want to share the story of the time I started a company to let loose the creations I’ve been crafting.
