Let Forgetful Angler count so you can fish. Before, during or after you can fill in details. Track catches, conditions and lures across multi-day expeditions. Delete it tomorrow or save it for years.
"First trip of the first day I can't remember my bass count past two. I spend more effort trying to remember my fish count than fishing."
Four days of intense fishing. Multiple trips per day. “How many did you get?” I don’t remember… I needed an app designed to count, but not track me, or sell to me, or pop-up something when all I need to do is press a plus button.
I decided to make one using Claude Pro. Forgetful Angler started as a simple counter project that grew as I decided to add longer term memory.
Create one when you arrive — or days before. It holds all your days, trips and catches in one place. A morning on the water or a full week at the cabin.
Each day within an expedition has its own totals: fish caught, time on water and a timeline of everything that happened — weather, lure changes, trip starts and ends.
Start a new trip each time you pick up a rod. End it when you set it down. Multiple trips a day are normal. Each trip tracks time, catch count and conditions.
Active expedition at a glance — day count, total catch, biggest fish and a live trip in progress.
Log air temp, water temp, wind, cloud cover and rain manually — or tap once to pull current conditions from the National Weather Service using a city/state or ZIP code. Your location is used only in that moment; it is never stored outside your device or shared with anyone.
This app was built to remember fish counts — not to hand secret fishing holes and favorite lures over to an ad network. Two dollars and you own it outright.
No account required. No tracking. No algorithms deciding you need a targeted ad for crankbaits because you logged a good day on smallmouth.
